Congressman Fred Keller announces $100,000 federal grant for Perry County Development Authority

Grant money will go toward training for downtown revitalization projects

Washington, D.C. — Congressman Fred Keller (PA-12) on Wednesday announced the United States Department of Agriculture has approved a Rural Community Development Investment Grant of $100,000 for the Perry County Economic Development Authority.

 

The grant money will go toward allowing the Perry County Economic Development Authority to train and assist Duncannon Borough and Newport Borough with a downtown revitalization project, which will assist current businesses, attract new businesses, and bring about health and wellness partnerships.

 

The total cost of the project is $200,000 with the Perry County Economic Development Authority contributing $100,000.

 

“I am proud to announce the Perry County Economic Development Authority received this sizeable grant from the United States Department of Agriculture,” Congressman Keller said. “The funding for this project will help grow business opportunities and economic development to these rural communities.”
