Congressman Fred Keller announces $279,800 in federal assistance awarded to no kill animal shelter in Towanda

Washington, D.C. — Congressman Fred Keller (PA-12) on Thursday announced the United States Department of Agriculture has awarded $279,800 in Rural Development investment money to Happy Tails No Kill Animal Shelter in Towanda.

 

The award includes a $229,800 loan and $50,000 grant.

 

The money will go toward building a new animal shelter that will provide a clean and comfortable establishment for the animals and help the shelter provide public education and outreach on responsible pet ownership.

 

“I am proud that the United States Department of Agriculture has awarded this money to Happy Tails No Kill Animal Shelter,” said Congressman Fred Keller. “Ongoing investment in rural Pennsylvania and areas within Pennsylvania’s 12th Congressional District will help drive our economy. This Rural Development investment money will be going to a great cause in the Towanda area.”
