Money will be used for a college partnership to develop career pathways

Washington, D.C. — Congressman Fred Keller announced on Wednesday that the United States Department of Agriculture has awarded a Rural Investment grant of $81,150 to Forest City Regional School District to partner with Johnson College to develop career pathways for high school students in architectural design and logistics.

As part of the grant, Johnson College will set up a satellite location to provide access to post-secondary training in transportation, logistics, and architectural design to students and adult learners.

“This grant money is a terrific example of how government can help reduce the cost of education and help provide career training for in-demand jobs,” Congressman Keller said. “Government should not take a one-size-fits-all approach to education and this grant money is an indication that there is more than one way to life-long career success.”
