Congressman Fred Keller announces Violence Against Women Act grant to Borough of State College

$500,000 grant from Department of Justice is part of the Improving Criminal Justice Response to Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, and Stalking Grant Program

Washington, D.C. — Congressman Fred Keller (R-PA) today announced the Borough of State College was awarded an Improving Criminal Justice Response to Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, and Stalking Grant Program grant of $500,000 from the Department of Justice’s Office of Violence Against Women.

 

The grant encourages inter-governmental law enforcement partnerships to ensure that sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking are treated as serious violations of criminal law.

 

On the award of the grant, Congressman Fred Keller made the following statement:

 

“I want to thank the Department of Justice’s Office of Violence Against Women for providing this grant to the Borough of State College. This money will help ensure local government can better cooperate and coordinate with other agencies to ensure the heinous acts of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking are dealt with seriously, professionally, and with appropriate due process.”
