Congressman Fred Keller honors local correctional officers during National Correctional Officers Week

Washington, D.C. — In honor of National Correctional Officers Week, Congressman Fred Keller (PA-12) today met with correctional officers and staff at USP Lewisburg to present a certificate of recognition and thank them for their continued service to the community.

Coinciding with Congressman Keller’s visit was a job fair at the penitentiary, hosted by the federal Bureau of Prisons. USP Lewisburg is currently seeking qualified applicants to serve as correctional officers and fill other positions. Keller was joined at the event by Shane Fausey, President of the National Council of Prison Locals 33 and Andy Kline, President of USP Lewisburg’s Local 148 union.

In addition to USP Lewisburg, Keller’s district also includes USP Allenwood in Union County, to which the same certificate was sent.

On marking National Correctional Officers Week, Congressman Keller made the following statement:

Today we recognize the workers at USP Lewisburg and USP Allenwood as part of National Correctional Officers Week, but we are grateful for them every day.”
