Bank helped small businesses navigate Paycheck Protection Program loans

Washington, D.C. — Congressman Fred Keller (R-PA) spoke on the House Floor to recognize Orrstown Bank as a “PA-12 COVID-19 Hero” for outstanding work processing and facilitating Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans for small businesses in Pennsylvania’s 12th Congressional District.

Enacted as part of the CARES Act, PPP has been successful in helping Pennsylvania businesses retain their employees and remain operational during the pandemic. In Pennsylvania, over $20 billion in PPP loans has been distributed to more than 158,700 businesses.

Orrstown Bank, headquartered in Shippensburg, PA, played an instrumental role in quickly distributing PPP loans, preventing many businesses from having to close their doors.

On Orrstown Bank’s work, Congressman Fred Keller made the following statement:

“I thank Orrstown Bank for their outstanding service and commitment to our communities during this challenging time. Without their diligence in helping direct much needed PPP loans to our neighbors in need, many businesses in Pennsylvania’s 12th Congressional District would have been lost. Banks like Orrstown have been an important asset during this pandemic and I am honored to recognize them on the House Floor.”
