Says President Trump has kept his word and delivered on his promises “with one hand tied behind his back”

Washington, D.C. — Congressman Fred Keller (R-PA) was featured on Fox & Friends First this morning where he slammed Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s and House Democrats’ impeachment obsession by pointing out the ongoing opportunity costs of impeachment and arguing President Trump has been able to deliver on his promises and stand up for the American people despite Democrats constantly trying to tear him down.

In case you missed it, here some quotes from the interview:

When you look at what’s happened so far…if it’s about patriotism and our constitution, then we should be talking about rights of everyone and certainly [the impeachment] has not been fair to the President.

There’s been no direct evidence that the President has done anything wrong. So, I think we need to focus in Congress rather than on trying to undo the 2016 election, I think we should focus on getting things done that the American people sent us down here to do and that’s really prescription drug reform, that’s funding our military, and getting a budget done.

When the Speaker talks about something going on for two-and-a-half years, that part I’d agree with her because they’ve been trying to undo the election for that long, and, quite frankly, since before the President was elected.

Look at the President’s accomplishments and the things that he’s done—strengthening our military, our economy, and trade deals—and he’s done it with one hand tied behind his back because the Democrats have been obsessed with the fact that Donald Trump got elected President and kept his word. A lot of people talk about politicians and they want us to to tell them about what we’re going to do and keep our word and, if anybody’s done it, President Trump’s done it.

Friday’s Fox News interview was the capstone of a week where Congressman Keller took the lead on calling out the opportunity costs of impeachment.

On Wednesday, Congressman Keller spoke on the House Floor about what is being missed while the House Democrats are obsessed with their impeachment farce.

“While some Democrat members of this House have pointed to the number of bills passed as evidence of success, I would like to point out that just because people are busy, it does not mean they are working,” Congressman Keller said.

“While bipartisan bills that address issues like lowering prescription drug costs, creating better trade deals, and funding our national defense are ready to be voted on, Speaker Pelosi has instead chosen to focus on partisan messaging bills that she knows have zero chance of ever becoming law.”

Later, in the House Education and Labor Committee, Congressman Keller noted that failure to address bipartisan, comprehensive immigration reform is another opportunity cost of the Democrats’ impeachment obsession.

“While the humanitarian and security crisis at our southern border made headlines for months just less than a year ago, nothing has gotten done on comprehensive immigration reform since the majority in this chamber has lost its focus,” Congressman Keller said.

Last week, Congressman Keller published an Op-Ed in the Washington Examiner outlining in detail the full scope of impeachment opportunity costs harming Americans that expect their lawmakers to work on their behalf.
