Congressman Keller demands accountability from the Chinese Communist Party
Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Fred Keller (R-PA) joined more than 200 Republicans in sending a letter to Speaker Pelosi demanding a full investigation to address the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) complicity in obscuring the origins of COVID-19. With evidence mounting that COVID-19 started in a Chinese lab, followed by a subsequent cover-up, the letter calls on Speaker Pelosi to instruct the appropriate Democrat committee chairs to immediately join Republicans to hold the CCP accountable.
“These questions about the CCP’s liability are not a diversion, as you falsely claimed,” the letter reads. “To the contrary, every American family that lost someone deserves answers about the origin of this terrible virus, and House Democrats’ ongoing refusal to allocate investigative resources to get those answers is an affront to them. We hope House Democrats will abandon their partisan agenda and join House Republicans’ investigation into the origins of COVID-19. This is one of the most important questions we face.”

On the letter, Congressman Keller made the following statement:
“The Chinese Communist Party is an adversary that has not been forthcoming or made good-faith efforts to investigate the origins of COVID-19. This pandemic has killed nearly 600,000 Americans and changed every aspect of our lives. If China is responsible for this virus coming from a lab, we must hold them accountable. I urge Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats to work with Republicans to uncover the truth on behalf of the American people.”
BACKGROUND: More than a year ago, member nations ordered the World Health Organization to investigate the origins of COVID-19. This investigation was compromised because the CCP:
- Blocked American scientists from participating in a full-scope investigation.
- Refused access to raw data and reports from Wuhan.
- Maintained full power to edit and alter the final report.
While the United States has made progress recovering from the COVID-19 virus, the how, when, and who regarding the way this virus originated is yet to be determined.
