Congressman Keller meets with Mifflinburg Hose Fire Company
WASHINGTON – Today Congressman Fred Keller (R-PA) met with the Mifflinburg Hose Fire Company to congratulate the department for receiving an Assistance to Firefighters Grant totaling $395,000, tour its operations, and discuss the ongoing challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The grant includes $376,190.48 from the federal government and a five percent local match of $18,809.52. The funds will go toward the purchase of a new tanker/water tender truck.
In March, Congressman Keller wrote a letter to the director of FEMA in support of Mifflinburg Hose Company’s grant application for the AFG program.
On the awarding of the grant, Congressman Keller made the following statement:
“I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and working with the folks at the Mifflinburg Hose Fire Company for many years,” said Congressman Keller. “They do an outstanding job for our community, and this grant funding will help ensure they continue to have the resources they need to keep our communities safe.”
