ICYMI: Keller calls for immediate action to address ‘Biden border crisis’
Washington, D.C. — In case you missed it, last week Congressman Fred Keller (R-PA) joined members of the House Republican Conference in a press event outside of the Capitol, calling on President Joe Biden and his administration to address the surge of migrants gathering at the nation’s southern border.
According to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency, southwest border encounters have more than doubled between January 2020 and January 2021, now totaling 78,323, while the number of unaccompanied migrant children in U.S. custody increased by 25 percent in the past week.

Prior to the event, Congressman Keller made the following statement:
“Tens of thousands of people are swarming at our southern border, expecting President Biden to make good on his campaign promise of granting them blanket amnesty,” Keller said. “This White House has manufactured an immigration crisis that the president is unwilling to fix. We are calling for immediate action to secure our southern border for the safety and security of the American people.”
This week, Congress will vote on two immigration-related bills, the American Dream and Promise Act, and the Farm Workforce Modernization Act, both of which miss the mark in prioritizing border security and stopping the flow of illegal immigration.
